The first D.A.V. School was founded in 1886 at Lahore; the D.A.V. Movement has been spreading the light of learning throughout the country and providing quality education to the mass based on Vedic values. Education, as we all know, is the most effective tool, to fight against the ills prevailing in the society.

DAV institution was started in the memory of Swami Dyanand Saraswati to spread his ideologies among the masses. The founders of DAV movement, Lala Lajpat Rai, Guru Dutt Vidyarthi & others realized the efficacy of education to bring about positive changes in the society and thus educational institutions were started to dispel the darkness of illiteracy, ignorance, injustice and inequality prevalent in the society. The D.A.V. Movement was guided by the principle of selfless service to the society. The sapling sown by Mahatma Hansraj has now grown up as a huge tree with strong branches providing education to the different sections of society in the diverse fields as well as nurturing the talent of the future citizens of the country by channelizing their unlimited energies in the right directions.
